No Evidence Needed wins Southern Cross Stakes 2012

No Evidence Needed is the winner of the Group 3 Southern Cross Stakes, also known as the Frederick Clissold Stakes, at Rosehill today.

No Evidence Needed crossed the line 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Neeson in the 1200m quality handicap. Secret Admirer finished third with race favourite Latin News fourth.

Five-year-old mare No Evidence Needed was first up in the Southern Cross Stakes after recovering from an injury, her last start was 9 months ago when she finished fourth to Black Caviar in the BTC Cup.

Today’s win was the sixth in No Evidence Needed’s career from a total of 23 starts.

No Evidence Needed’s aim during the Sydney Autumn Carnival will be the Group 1 Coolmore Classic to be held on the 24th March 2012 at Rosehill.
